Global COCO Enterprise is engaging in the cultivation of CARDAMOM plants and undertaking the international marketing to decrease the world green CARDAMOM consumption.
However we are aggressively involved in the cultivation of CARDAMOM plants through our group of farmers with contract basis. Our group of farmers having very good knowledge and more than 60 years experience in the field of CARDAMOM cultivation to using organic system.
The cultivation normally takes two years from the plantation. In India there is three different types of CARDAMOM varieties namely Malabar, Mysore, Ceylon type. Malabar and Guatemalan is the world most commercial trade small Cardamoms. Our Indian Malabar Green CARDAMOM Pods is more aromatic and slightly smaller than other grades.
India, Guatemala, El Salvador, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, Papua New Guinea are the world cardamom growing countries.
Although India is the largest producer of cardamom, only a small share of the Indian production is exported because of the large domestic demand. The main exporting country is Guatemala, where cardamom cultivation has been introduced to less than a century ago and where all cardamom is grown for export.
World production of cardamom is estimated around next few years is 36000MTs; India is producing almost 14000MTs in the world production but Guatemala producing nearly 20000MTs.
Cardamom Constituents in Seeds:
The content of essential oil in the seeds is strongly dependent on storage conditions, but may be as high as 8% . In the oil were found approximately terpineol 45% , myrcene 27% , limonene 8% , menthone 6% , phellandrene 3% , 1, 8-cineol 2% , sabinene 2% and heptane 2% .
Cardamom is often named as the third most expensive spice in the world (after saffron and vanilla) , and the high price reflects the high reputation of this most pleasantly scented spice. Despite its numerous applications in the cooking styles of Sri Lanka, India and Iran, 60% of the world production is exported to Arab (South West Asia, North Africa) countries, where the larger part is used to prepare coffee.
